AWRSD Strategic Plan - Strategic Initiatives

Our Strategic Initiatives describe the specific approach that we are taking to support each goal within our strategic plan.

 

Universal Academics Goal: By the end of the 2026-2027 school year we will significantly improve universal instruction for all students across the district.

 

Strategic Initiative 1.1: Increase the adoption of high quality instructional materials, which challenges and engages all learners.

Strategic Initiative 1.2: Create embedded professional development opportunities for all staff. 

Strategic Initiative 1.3: Support the use of data to improve student learning. 

 


 

Universal Social Emotional Goal: By the end of the 2026-2027 school year we will significantly improve social-emotional support for all students across the district. 

 

Strategic Initiative 2.1: Align mental health services and wellness strategies across the district.

Strategic Initiative 2.2: Provide direct instruction to all students around the core competencies of social emotional learning.

 


 

Multi-Tiered System of Supports Goal: By the end of the 2026-2027 school year we will implement tier 2 supports in academics and social emotional learning for students in all schools at all grade levels.  

 

Strategic Initiative 3.1: Develop and articulate consistent tiered systems of academic support throughout the district. 

Strategic Initiative 3.2: Develop and articulate consistent tiered systems of social, emotional and behavioral support throughout the district. 

Strategic Initiative 3.3: Align common practices throughout the district for identifying students who require tier 2 and tier 3 interventions.

 


 

Post-Graduate Outcomes Goal: By the end of the 2026-2027 school year every student will have a four year plan by the end of 9th grade, monitor and adjust that plan each year and evaluate their success in achieving and modifying their plan for post graduation success.

 

Strategic Initiative 4.1: Create clear pathways that encourage students to create a four year plan for high school as well as beyond.

Strategic Initiative 4.2: Create opportunities for all students to earn industry recognized credentials and/or externally validated certificates of achievement.
